Anton heads our Property Disputes and Compulsory Acquisitions Team. Anton works in a wide range of matters from commercial, planning and compulsory acquisition disputes to contested estates and guardianship law. His expertise includes matters of competency and unconscionable dealings.

Anton's broad experience enables him to provide a balanced analysis of any given situation as well as objective and practical legal advice. While his preference is to provide pre-emptive advice to avoid cost and hassle, he is adept at negotiation, mediation and complex trials in jurisdictions including significant cross-border proceedings.

Anton is a founding board member and director of the Australian International Opera Awards and a board member of the Opera School Melbourne. Anton is also the pro bono co-ordinator at Aitken Partners.

  • Advising owners, tenants and businesses, including Boral and Westfield, affected by land acquired for most major infrastructure projects in Victoria over the past few years as well as for many owners affected by minor road widening schemes and public acquisition overlays.   • Advising a member of the State Parliament of Victoria on an FOI claim seeking files from a Government department concerning official Government reports and related documents.
  • Representing unChain St Kilda (a not for profit organisation) in relation to its objections to the propose St Kilda Triangle development plan - planning approval including VCAT proceeding involving issues of invalid approval, denial of natural justice, unreasonableness and acting ultra vires
  • Advising a large waste management company in dispute with multiple Councils and the EPA concerning the construction, management and general operation of waste management facilities. These actions were settled out of court by negotiation.
  • Advising in a complex estate dispute involving a 20-year-old Will that required rectification and subsequent negligence proceedings against the solicitor who drafted the original Will. This matter also involved:
    • an appeal of the Will Rectification proceeding
    • a constructive and resulting trust claim made by the primary beneficiary and a company against several other beneficiaries, companies and trusts
    • the adjunct litigation over the Will of the deceased wife
    • the removal of executors of a Will
  • Acting for residential care facilities in protecting the best interests of the residents, including obtaining outstanding fees and bonds withheld by family members
