Peta joined Aitken Partners in October 2013 and is the head of our Property Disputes & Compulsory Acquisition team.

Peta has extensive experience in compulsory acquisition and is well known for her knowledge in this area. Peta represents land owners, businesses and tenants in compulsory acquisition claims and disputes.

Peta’s focus is to ensure that landowners affected by compulsory acquisitions are made aware of their rights and pursue every cent of compensation they are entitled to. As well as achieving the right financial outcome for clients, Peta also strives to take the heartache out of what can be a tiring and emotional process.

Peta also has experience in commercial litigation, dispute resolution and corporate insolvency.

Prior to joining Aitken Partners, Peta was a Principal at SBA Law where she was responsible for establishing that firm’s compulsory acquisition practice.  Peta was admitted to practice in 2000 and holds bachelor degrees in Law (Hons) and Arts.

Peta is a mentor in the Law Institute of Victoria's junior lawyer mentoring program and she is  a board director of Women’s Health West which is an organisation committed to improving equality and justice for women living in Melbourne’s western region. Peta has also provided tutorials in Property Law at the University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning.
