4 New Principal Lawyers for Aitken Partners

Aitken Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of 4 new Principal Lawyers – Lizia Lim, Jonathon Lean, Paolo Tatti and Natasha Ozolins – effective 1 January. The firm now has 17 Principal Lawyers, with 8 of those being appointed in the past 12 months.

The new Principal Lawyers span different areas of the firm and recognises their legal skills as much as their client relationship attributes.

Lizia Lim, Wills & Estates, has been with Aitken Partners for 6 years. She has practiced as a lawyer in the area of Wills & Estates for 13 years and been an Accredited Specialist in Wills & Estates since 2014. She is well known and respected among her peers in the industry, and has been recognised in Doyles Guide as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ in both Estate Litigation and Wills, Estates and Succession Planning each year for the past 3 years. Lizia is a committee member of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association (AALA) and an active member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). As well as private clients, Lizia regularly acts on behalf of professional solicitor administrators and trustee companies.

Jonathon Lean, Commercial Litigation, has been with Aitken Partners since his days as a graduate lawyer and has led many of the firms high profile litigious matters in the past few years including a negligence litigation against an insurance broker and insurer for damages and complex administrative and public law matters. He also advises clients on general business matters with experience negotiating share sales agreements and international trade agreements as well as issues around the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act, Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act, and the Environmental Protection Act. Jonathon believes in building longstanding relationships with those he represents.

Paolo Tatti, Litigation & Insolvency, joined Aitken Partners two years ago from a smaller firm where he had a broad ranging practice, including regular appearance work before Courts and Tribunals. He has quickly become a mentor to many of Aitken Partners’ younger lawyers. His legal acuity and client focus have proved to be of great value to the firm and its clients.

Natasha Ozolins, Compulsory Acquisition, commenced working at Aitken Partners nearly 12 years ago and during that time studied law while working as a personal assistant and then as a paralegal at Aitken Partners and has spent her whole legal career with the firm. For the past few years, she has been leading the firm’s acclaimed Compulsory Acquisition team, representing landowners, businesses and tenants during the land acquisition process. Natasha is about to commence maternity leave in early 2021.
