Aussie Women cricketers win world cup

Andrew Clarke

Having spent a wonderful afternoon with everyone at Aitken Partners in January  as part of it’s involvement with WiSE, I thought I might catch you all up on some wonderful news form the world of women’s cricket.

The Australian Southern Stars have just won their 6th World Cup in Mumbai defeating first time finalists the West Indies. The team, as usual, was professional, entertaining, stylish and humble winners.

I was lucky enough to be part of the broadcast team and the figures where amazing having reached 23 million for the first game alone in India! Some great gains made with Sri Lanka and the West Indies challenging the top four national of Australia, New Zealand, India and England which reflects the strong development world wide.

With Ashes around the corner in August, the Southern Stars are out to keep the trophy on home soil.
