Georgia is a member of the Aitken Partners Family Law team dealing with complex property proceedings involving high net worth families.

Georgia’s background in commercial law and litigation means she can approach matters involving property disputes with a deeper level of understanding of intricate corporate structures. This enables Georgia to provide clients with sound advice while taking a fee conscious approach. Where appropriate, Georgia encourages clients to engage in meaningful pre-litigation alternative dispute resolution in an effort to resolve matters without the need for litigation. However, Georgia will also advise clients when it is appropriate and in their interests to issue court proceedings either in the Family Court of Australia or the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

Georgia’s practice also encompasses family violence intervention orders as well as criminal law matters with regular appearances in the Magistrates’ Court. Georgia has conducted bail applications and interim and defended interim hearings. Georgia’s experience in drafting applications filed with the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal and subsequent appearances means she is able to properly advise clients of their entitlements if they have been affected by crime either directly or indirectly. Georgia has also worked on matters involving serious offences and Children’s Court matters.
