Abbey Hoolahan is a Melbourne-based family lawyer and an Associate in Aitken Partners' Family Law team.
Prior to relocating to Melbourne, Abbey previously grew up on the border of regional Victoria and New South Wales.
Abbey holds a Bachelor of Laws and International Studies from Deakin University and completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Leo Cussen. Abbey was admitted to practice in October 2022.
During her studies, Abbey completed legal internships both in Melbourne with First Nations Legal & Research Services and in regional Victoria at the Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre. These opportunities provided her exposure to Native Title claims and family violence intervention order proceedings, helping to develop her understanding of diverse legal issues and client needs.
Following admission, Abbey worked at a commercial, property and civil litigation firm where she assisted clients with building insurance claims, contract and fencing disputes, residential and commercial leasing matters, and debt recovery proceedings.
Since March 2024, Abbey has practised exclusively in family law where she has gained valuable experience in divorce matters, property and financial settlements, parenting matters including exposure to various Independent Children’s Lawyer matters, financial agreements and intervention order matters.
She brings a calming, practical and well-rounded approach to supporting clients through is often a very difficult and challenging time in their lives.
