Bao is a Principal Lawyer who predominately practices in Commercial & Property Law, Property Litigation and Migration Law. Bao graduated with a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Banking and Finance and has a Graduate Diploma in Migration Law.
Bao's primary interest is in property and commercial transactions and he has assisted clients and owners of businesses of all sizes and types (from retail businesses to property developers to investors to families) with their property needs and commercial matters.
Bao advises clients in a wide range of property and commercial matters, including:
- Commercial, industrial and residential sales and purchases.
- Associated and related party transfers.
- Development structures and joint ventures.
- Planning and local government issues.
- Property disputes, including building disputes.
- Owners Corporation disputes.
- Retail and commercial leasing and lease disputes.
- Sales and purchase of businesses.
At Aitken Partners, Bao has grown his practice to largely deal with complex property disputes including caveat and mortgage disputes, property and land disputes, contractual disputes, building disputes and leasing disputes.
In addition, Bao has an interest in Migration Law and advises clients on various migration issues and assists them with their visa applications, reviews of refusal decisions and complex cancellation of visa matters. Bao enjoys advocacy and appears regularly before the Tribunal and Courts to assist clients with litigating their cases and defending an action against them.
Bao speaks fluent Vietnamese and has represented Vietnamese clients in other areas of law, including Wills and Estates, Family Law and Intervention Order and Criminal Law matters. Bao is a key member of the firm’s Asia Advisory and together with other members of the team aim to deliver outstanding service to our Asian clients.
Outside Aitken Partners, Bao is motivated to pursue greater diversity in the law including race, gender and other attributes. Bao is currently a member and President of the Victorian Branch of the Asian Australian Law Association (AALA) and volunteers as a lawyer with WestJustice and Vietnamese Museum Australia in its legal and governance team.
