Hall Road & Western Port Highway Upgrade Compulsory Acquisition Update

Compulsory Acquisition: 19 November 2020

The Victorian and Federal Governments have committed funding for the Hall Road and Western Port Highway Upgrade which will include compulsory acquisitions for properties affected on 5.2km of Hall Road between McCormicks Road and Cranbourne-Frankston Road together with upgrading two Western Port Highway roundabouts to improve safety on the Western Port Highway.

The Project will increase traffic lanes on Hall Road to two lanes in each direction between McCormicks Road and Cranbourne-Frankston Road, upgrade intersections at McCormicks Road, Taylors Road, Evans Road, Western Port Highway and Cranbourne-Frankston Road, build a new shared walking and cycling path along Hall Road and upgrade two Western Port Highway roundabouts at the intersections of Ballarto Road and Cranbourne-Frankston Road with traffic lights to manage traffic flow in the area and for safety reasons.

Various site investigations along the proposed alignment are currently being undertaken to assess the area with construction expected to commence in early 2022 and be completed by late 2024.

About Us

Aitken Partners compulsory acquisition lawyers have more than two decades of combined experience in representing landowners, tenants and business owners in compulsory acquisition claims in most (if not all) of Victoria's major infrastructure projects.

If you are impacted by the Hall Road and Western Port Highway Upgrade Project, it is imperative you engage lawyers experienced in compulsory acquisition matters to assist you in obtaining appropriate compensation. The compulsory acquisition process is covered by a unique legislative regime which does not follow standard property and conveyancing law practices.

If you are affected (or you may be affected) by the Hall Road and Western Port Highway Upgrade Project, please contact Natalie O'Flynn on 03 8600 6046 to arrange a time to speak with one of our compulsory acquisition lawyers regarding the proposed design for the Hall Road and Western Port Highway Upgrade Project and your potential rights to compensation if your land is ultimately compulsorily acquired for the Project.
